Pacific Coast in Puerto Vallarta, A New Beginning

Puerto Vallarta
where I will soon have a new home
& my jewelry-design studio

Dainty Necklace with Faceted Pear-Shaped Chrome Diopside Drops
these stones are found in the same locations as diamonds
they could pass for emeralds to the novice, but with no striation
& clarity of intense brilliant green color they have been given
a very un-pretty name for a very beautiful & rare stone.

the view from my new home...
I live in Houston, a big international city now,
wonderful for business, society galas, .fashion shows
and ladies who lunch.
I began thinking about living near the ocean years ago, I
was always drawn to it.  I thought about Oregon, but once
I saw Puerto Vallarta I knew it would be my new home.

Faceted Apatite Briolettes, 14k Gold Dangle Earrings

Mismaloya, the area of Puerto Vallarta John Huston filmed
"Night of the Iguana" with Richard Burton,
just before he & Elizabeth Taylor were married

Bracelet of Iolite, Blue Quartz, Freshwater Pearls & Swarovski Crystals
with Sterling Silver

Pink Tourmaline Faceted Pear-Shaped Stones
Dangling from 14k Gold Chain

Swarovski Crystal Flip-Flop Necklace

A photo taken Christmas 2001 with my 2 best friends in the world, Mari on the far left,
Marti in the center, me & my wonderful husband, Ned.
Mari, her husband 2nd from left, & Marti have all passed away,
my precious husband is now confined to an Alzheimer's facility &
does not know me or his beloved Poodle, Fifi.
We were inseparable, the 5 of us.  Now, it's only me.
The ocean is calling me to a new life, new adventures & new friends.
Houston will remain my home forever.

my jewelry designing began in 2002 as therapy to soothe my
loss of Mari...& with each piece I design she remains my inspiration

  2. Dear One,
You make the most beautiful jewelry!
    Absolutely gorgeous.
May all go well with your relocation. Lovely area.

    I understand
losing so many loved ones and friends in a year. It isn't an easy thing to go through. My dearest friend passed away about a year ago and I still cannot fully comprehend her not being alive on this planet. I miss her beyond words.

I'm very sorry for your loss with your close, personal friends and so saddened for your husband's illness.

I enjoy your blog and am so glad you have joined the blogging world!
    Best wishes to you always,
    d from homehaven

  7. I don't know what to say other than I think you are making such a wise choice. You are living for today. I am shocked that your friends are now all gone & your beloved husband has Alzheimer disease. The photo represents such a fun, vital group of friends. With my mother in her last few weeks of battling cancer, my mind is racing with thoughts, feelings and confusion. I look at life so differently now. I can't imagine what you've been through? Coming from the Pacific North West, I love Oregon (my two adult children live in Portland), but it can be so gray (as I'm sure you know). P.V. seems like paradise. Houston will miss you I know it. I commend you for making this brave move. Sending hugs from Katy. xx

I hope your move has gone well. It's such alot of work going through all the details!
Hope that you will be very, very happy in the new location.

Please know how much I value your comments. I read every single one and do hope you will take the time to leave your thoughts. I think InstaGram with the Emojis have taken a lot away from blogging, but I love IG too.
