Submerged Flowers = Less Really is More

In the process of styling interesting parties for our friends, families & clients
we are often faced with a budget ( I know, it's hard to believe, isn't it?).

Most of the time the menu doesn't stand a chance of being skimped upon.
And, certainly not the wines, champagnes or the bar items.

Decorations & flowers do.
This is the main reason we are engaged.
Our ingenuity & creativeness
coupled with a few decades of wild & wooly experiences,
charity galas, luncheons, cocktail parties,
afternoon teas...not to mention the destination venue events,
weddings, birthdays, anniversaries, showers, bridal luncheons
& office parties.

One of the smartest and most beautiful ideas for saving money
on flowers is a very easy thing to accomplish,
once you have your containers.

Submerge them in water-filled glass containers or vases,
the  more simple the better.

if these tulips were arranged the old-fashioned
way, this number of blooms would not
work well, in the glass containers
they suddenly look hugely important.
this arrangement is not complete, we would add
tiny crystals, pearls, seashells, beads, etc.
to the bottom (don't show bare stems).

little note: if bubbles form on the flowers
change the water from tap to distilled,
don't know why this works but it does.

same with these orchids with a couple strands
of bear grass

these are very low containers and work well with the
small votives, floating candles on top of the
orchids ties it all together...
a candle or a flower could be placed at each
place setting instead of grouped as they are in the
photo

this tall skinny vase is particularly pretty
and only 3-4 flowers in each,
we placed low mini arrangements around
the tall pieces to balance

curly willow with rosebuds,
accompany beautiful lillies,
rose petals around bottom

similar to the ones above, but with taller containers
note: the little crystal marbles at bottom, they throw off
such pretty sparkles when the candle light hits them.

you can find these containers at Michaels, Big Lots,
Tuesday Morning, etc., when they're on sale is the
time to stock up

this, I love the most because it's all pink,
notice the upside down tulips.

& since this was supposed to be a
VALENTINE DAY
posting the red & pink flowers work wonderfully!!

& remember,

Marsha

  2. Hi Marsha
Thanks for the nice comment on my blog - yes, it was pretty much a job, so I appreciate that you enjoyed it.
So beautiful flower arrangements you have on your blog today! I love the yellow tulips - they remind me that we'll soon have easter, the time where almost all Norwegians go skiing and get dark brown skin in the mountains.
Also thank you for the good flower ideas.
    Have a great week!
    xx

Please know how much I value your comments. I read every single one and do hope you will take the time to leave your thoughts. I think InstaGram with the Emojis have taken a lot away from blogging, but I love IG too.
