A Lovely Surprise...

This beautiful, charming & wonderfully witty English
woman, called Christina Lindsay, who writes one of the
most fascinating blogs around has given a blog award
to me....I thank her so very much.

It's called the
Super Comments Award

The rules are as follows:
Post it on your blog.
OK, now I've done  that.

Thank and link the person who gave it to you.
Thank you so so much, precious Christina,

link to "Fashion's Most Wanted" is on my right side bar.

Answer the ten questions that come with the award.

Nominate some of your favourite blogs

here are the questions

1.  Why do you blog?
Until I actually started in earnest with blogging I certainly would
not have answered the way I will answer now. I live in Houston &
one idle afternoon I bumped into Cote de Texas, a beautiful blog written by
another Houstonian, an Interior Designer named Joni.
From there the process began.
There are so many brilliantly talented people across the world  and this
medium of  finding & friending someone who has your same interests
and/or style is a big adventure.   It is a way to reach across the oceans, the skys,
the stars and connect with another through the most basic of all
human capabilities, communication.

In this way of communication we have our own writing & speaking
style, and then we have photographs from literally everywhere available
to us to further express our thoughts & dreams.
When someone else who is blogging happens upon "our" site  and they stop long
enough to read our words & leave a comment a connection is made.
From there we have limitless possibilities, don't we?
Further, the creative people who write their blogs have a desire to be accepted,
not just for their creativity, but for their humanity...
we are reaching out & touching someone in this new way.
Once hooked, forget about it, you're hooked, the content of your
posts become  extremely important. You want to make each
post as wonderful as it can be. You don't post if you can't top what you've
already done (something all artists feel as they progress with their work,
the next one is always better than the last one, because the work is
evolving continually).
I have made some amazing beautiful connections via this process.
I can truly say I miss them when they are absent for a while,
and I hope they are OK.
I think, soon it will be a year I've been seriously blogging...I wouldn't know
Catherine, Christina, Charlotta, Yvonne #1, Yvonne #2, Juls, Renee, Deb,
Simone, Tish, Hakan, Greet, Cecilia, Jenn, Dawn, Crystal, Lene,
Connie & on & on except for blogging.
All of you know exactly what I mean.
Each day I take my little dogs out, grab my coffee & sit before my
computer screen to see what beautiful images await me.
It is my own private time, I'm still in my pj's.
And, I love it. I smile most of the time.
And, on the day we learned of Marija's death, I cried.
I think you know I'm addicted.

2.  What are your three best memories?

Dinner at Le Moulin de Mougins Restaurant
located 6km from Cannes, noted for their
truffle stuffed zucchini flowers, a
place so famous, & frequented by statesmen,
movie stars, everyone who is famous,
(& we were there too)

Christmas at home with a tree 22' high, it took
me 3 days to decorate it, the dinners, the party,
and my family.

My grandmother who is the real Mom-Mom.
Never bored, Brilliantly educated, Wonderfully Funny,
& she loved everyone, except my mother.
She made life as a child just so much fun for me.

3.  Name the four best fiction books you've read?
Atonement, by Ian McEwan
The Great Gatsby,  by F. Scott Fitzgerald
Presumed Innocent, by Scott Turow
The Horse Whisperer, by Nicolas Evans

4. What is the best 5 movies ever made?
The Departed, Martin Scorsese
Godfather 1 & 2, Frances Ford Coppola
Lawrence of Arabia, David Lean
Atonement, Joe Wright (Ian McEwan's book)
The Princess Bride, Rob Reiner

5. Name five things you couldn't live without?

Family & Friends are guaranteed, so we're not counting here
My 2 little doggies, FiFi & Bono
Cell Phone
Ironed Sheets
Lip Gloss & Eye Makeup
6.  If you had to change your name, what would it be?
Gypsy Rose Lee

7. Tell us a unique and interesting fact about yourself?
I'm very very witty, give fabulous dinner parties at home,
love music, love to travel (but not alone), would
move to the Pacific NW in a flash, am generous to a fault,

8. What do you love best about yourself?
Being a really good conversationalist

9. If you had a "Freaky Friday" experience, who would you change places with?
Maybe Christina...she has a really cool life,
she's beautiful & she's younger !

10. What's the best thing about being a woman?
Flirting outrageously, loving everyone enough to tell them,
& finally being able to simply be myself no matter the

Marsha you are so kind to include me. I haven't been much of a blogger these last few months, so I am incredibly thrilled. Always so fun to know more about the marvelous Marsha. You are such an interesting woman with so much panache. Each & every tidbit about you was so good to know. I too cried when I read about Marija. I was so deeply saddened and effected. I am just thrilled to know you are enjoying your new granddaughter, you are very blessed. We have our home on the market as of yesterday, so many changes that my head is spinning. A huge hug to you & was thrilled to read you would love to live in the PNW, my home!! Love to you xoxo deb
