What challenge?

Catherine, my lovely friend, at The Shiny Pebble

where the outfit will be worn

imagining the room...

in Texas it is hot in summer,
and summer can last a very long time.
this year, however, I have experienced heat like never before...
in Orlando, Florida where a summer's day is a steam bath.
Texas is a resort climate compared to the heat in Orlando
(where my daughter works).
we are creating an ensemble for a home in Houston...with a room
similar to the one above...the owners have a small boy with
frequent visits made by other small boys...those lovely creamy
sofas will become saddle tan leather immediately with pops of
color from millions of feather throw pillows done up in tribal
prints or ikat, not silk as I would prefer. Oh well...
The other thing I would add immediately would be a swimming pool
as large as possible...which would entertain those little boys for hours each
day...whilst the moms had lovely little visits.

I once lived in the Middle East where temperatures reach 130f...
it was bearable.
Orlando is unbearable.
Anyone coming here should not come in the summer, there is no
need to go to a real water park,  you'll be completely drenched where
ever you are.

  1. Marsha, That room is incredible! I love the white planked ceiling! And the white fabric against the creamy walls looks divine. White done right! It is very illusive in bloggland. Everyone is infatuated with the look of a painter grade white sprayed all over everything. I think so many are trying to do a shabby, white, etherial decor thing and it really looks like death! All white and dead.
I love the darks, and lights and pops of color with the white in this room. So rich and light and exciting. Makes me want to come in and live!!!!!
Love it, as usual my dear!

  4. Marsha you style sense is always the best; translates from fashion to design with such flair. I have yet to visit Orlando but think I'd be happy trying to get through the summers here; & yes with my large (thank god) pool!

Hope your week has been great so far Marsha. Sending you a huge hug xx

  5. That is one gorgeous room Marsha. And yes, the pool is a magnificent idea. :) The outfit is fantastic too, as expected. And all of this done in no time at all!!!! You are talented, my friend.

Please know how much I value your comments. I read every single one and do hope you will take the time to leave your thoughts. I think InstaGram with the Emojis have taken a lot away from blogging, but I love IG too.
