Steve Wynn on CNBC or Why We Need To Be Worried

Ladies, we need to be really worried about the USA's government

Subject:  Steve Wynn Takes on Washington

Very amazing that CNBC actually aired this most refreshing interview.

It was not even 2 hours after Steve Wynn's interview that he received a invitation from the tenant at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue, Washington , DC wanting him to explain in person why he said what he said!

Below is a short interview with Steve Wynn. Some of you know of him. He's a multi-billionaire, hotel mogul and real estate investor in Las Vegas and Asia . He is almost solely responsible for the revitalization of Las Vegas in the 80's with the building of The Mirage, Treasure Island , The Bellagio, and now Wynn Vegas.

When he started building The Mirage all the local Vegas newspapers were full of articles about how crazy he was for building a hotel with a million-dollar-a-day break even point. A few years later he built Treasure Island next door to The Mirage. There can be no doubt he is one of the top business men in the US today.  Whe he finished The Bellagio he was crowned The King of Las Vegas.

He's been a guest from time to time on all the network financial news programs.

If you listen to this recent CNBC interview (the link is below - short & to the point), you will be better informed than your neighbor about the state of the union.  There is a 30-second commercial prior to the 5-minute interview with Mr. Wynn.  Please take the time to listen...

Additionally, I was completely taken aback to hear that the president appeared on The View last week.  Parisian Farmgirl wrote a post about this absurdity.  OK, he dined with Anna Wintour the night before, tied up 1/2 of NYC's police department to appear at a $30,000 per person fundraising dinner, he stayed about 1 hour they said.  All of the problems our countrymen are facing and these are the frivolous actions he takes?  Sorry, I completely disagree.  But, I have said for over a year now,  the following:

He is a speech maker, not a policy maker.

Catherine @ The Shiny Pebble blogspot told me a few weeks ago that this kind of subject is too serious for our blogs.

What do you guys think?  Please let me know because I am really worried sick about what's going on in DC.

All of them need to be voted OUT in November.

  1. My brave and dear Marsha,
I just viewed Steve Wynn's interview. And I totally agree with him. God help us! Never before have I not been optomistic about our precious country...but I am very worried now.

And I found it so interesting he spoke of healthcare. My husband is a primary care physician, and medicine is in HUGE trouble! We are beginning to see the big crack in the governments healthcare plans. It is unsustainable, unrealistic and not in the best interest of the majority of Americans. Yes, we need to cover the destitute and the innocents.

My husband and other physicians in our area found a way to do just that. Many docs have signed an agreement that they will take on a percentage of those in need and treat them absolutely free. Each dr. doing his/her part all working together. Their choice! We choose to help those who cannot help themselves. And it is working!

He all too often sees what happends when the government mandates healthcare. Those who are able bodied getting free hand outs from the govenment, or medicare patients that need care are denied that care by the government. YOu cannot believe the waste of time and $$ spent in our office arguing with the medicare for payment for treating his senior patients!

Can you think of 1 institution that the government runs well, efficiently and without massive corruption? No? I didn't think so! I think our military might be the best example of the government running something fairly well. And isn't it ironic that national defense and protection from anarchy were the reason GOD established governments- not for anything else!

It makes me weep to think of the monumental shift in free enterprise (like that is a dirty word)and the socialistic undertones in the retoric of the powers in Washington. It was not socialism that made us great! It will be our undoing!

Marsha, this may be a very serious topic, but one that we all should think about! And more importantly pray about!

  2. Being English I can hardly voice an opinion about the US politics, but what's going on over here leaves mush to be desired.
You are in a serikous mood today.

    Take care.

  4. Hello - I must confess that I haven't been following the debates in DC all that closely but I hear the uncertainty echo everywhere. Refraining from giving a political opinion here, I hope that things balance out and that your beautiful country will find its feet again.

On a funny note though.. I have always thought that Steve looks a bit like Valentino.. You know, like they could be cousins or something. :)

Hoping you are well my friend. Am thinking of you often and will post my award announcement very soon.

    Lots of love and hugs
    xx C

P.S. Can't get hold of Catherine. Am a little worried. Is she ok?

  5. ABSOLUTELY you must post about current events! This is our LIFE and the dastardly way it's being bandied about by the current administration is radical and wrong.
People who have, and keep, their heads stuck in the sand, or worse places, may use their delete button or close the page; the rest of us are in a dither over how Obama acts and speaks. To have kept Shimon Peres waiting 2 hours for an appointment is not only the height of rudeness and arrogance, it's simply immature. Obama is an embarrassment to well mannered people everywhere and the USA is the laughing stock of Europe. I've been to England twice this year and both times engaged in conversations with people who ask how we're able to abide the man. I tell them, 'don't ask me, I didn't vote for him!"
    Keep on preaching it, woman!

  6. Honestly, I am always pretty sickened by what is going on with our government. I come here to this blog world as an escape, but I do value your opinion here and will listen to the interview when I have more time later today. You have piqued my curiosity!

  7. Ne'er Do wells in washington, we have elected
half wits into our government. They only want what's in it for them. The Medical field has so many law suits, and they are taking care of illegals as well. I say do not give any of them these long terms. Those fat Senator's are
all nestled in and learning every way to to
get benifits for themselves. I say 2 years is all they should serve, out and get new blood.
    Forget that outrageous retirement too..

  8. Hi everyone, it's 4:45PM Monday afternoon; thank each of you who have responded thus far for making a statement. I will email each one of you tonight. We are in serious trouble, & our recovery will start with a small voice that refuses to be silenced, I am adding mine. We can no longer be silent and watch what is happening today take hold & rot us away. Love to each of you. Marsha

  10. In the beginning I could have given him a pass on some of his daily dalliances. Now, however, it has become a normal way of life for the president to be on TV every single day, going out on dates, vacationing, guesting on talk shows night & day, all of which I believe is improper for a head of state. When so much is wrong one wonders how he can remain so aloof. I think General Stanley McCrystal knew exactly who he was talking to and said exactly what he meant to say. Sorry if you disagree, but my friend, Sandra, said it perfectly...it's my blog. Tomorrow I'll be back to normal with fluff & bubbles. xx's MarshaMarshaMarsha

Please know how much I value your comments. I read every single one and do hope you will take the time to leave your thoughts. I think InstaGram with the Emojis have taken a lot away from blogging, but I love IG too.
