Where's the Pot of Gold? & a nice giveway

my son's photography & text below

"arizona. backroads, somewhere.
as i was driving east i dropped into this valley
just before sunset during a driving rain, and it lit up.
the skies to the west opened up
and set the whole valley with a beautiful light.
i stopped to shoot the sunset and turned to check the weather behind,
only to see this fantastic rainbow emerging from the clouds.
it dropped right into my lap.

as i scrambled for a different lens,
it just kept getting bigger and seemed so close.
i moved to several different angles and found that the clouds
in the background were really strong for contrast.

it only lasted a few moments
and then it was gone as quickly as it arrived.

i’m still searching for that elusive pot."

  2. We often have huge, full double rainbows out here on the prairie. They are so magnificent. One time, driving through Denver, we spotted a wondrous rainbow that seemed to be going into the ground, not far from us. We left the highway to follow it. And we found the end of the rainbow! It went smack into the ground in the middle of a baseball diamond...right into the pitchers mound! We were actually able to stand in the middle of it. I'll never forget it. Cherry Kay

Please know how much I value your comments. I read every single one and do hope you will take the time to leave your thoughts. I think InstaGram with the Emojis have taken a lot away from blogging, but I love IG too.
