Bastille Day

Happy Bastille Day
to France
and all my French friends around the world...

We've been fortunate being in France 2 times for the
huge Bastille Day celebrations.

I will never forget sitting at a beautiful dinner party on the beach
in Cannes, with the pontoons in the harbor just a bit off-shore,
100's of boats making this huge arc behind the pontoons, 1000's
of people on La Croisette quite literally shoulder-to-shoulder,
 watching the spectacular fireworks display.

Coordinated with music broadcast over huge speakers so
everyone on shore could hear and see the production...
truly one of the most magical events I've ever witnessed.

the restaurants place formal dining tables all the way to the water,
so those of us lucky enough to be seated on the beach had the
BEST seats possible to see the fireworks...
they looked exactly like this...
but with much ohhhing & awwwweing & music.

  5. That sounds so wonderful. I had a similar experience on Martha's Vineyard, one 4th of July. Will never forget it, and can only imagine therefore how great it would have been to do something like that in France.

Please know how much I value your comments. I read every single one and do hope you will take the time to leave your thoughts. I think InstaGram with the Emojis have taken a lot away from blogging, but I love IG too.
