Monochromatic...

There is nothing I love more than varying shades of the same color,
especially the grays.  I've always loved grays for interiors, even before I saw
the light via Christina's Greige blog (one of my favs), but I do love it in fashion
as well.  Like Sterling Silver or Platinum, you know?
And like this cover photo.
Layers & layers of ruffles, ruches, richness & finery,
topped off by the beautiful red hair of Karen Elsen,
 photographed by Steven Meisel.

I know, I know...I'm completely copping out on creating my own beautiful
post by copy-catting Vogue Italia's cover.
But I have so much to think about
with next Tuesday's post for the international blog party called

By Invitation Only

The topic for October's post was selected by 2 of our original members,

Tish Jett of Femme d'un A Certain Age
&
Vicki Archer of French Essence

so, of course, I'm thinking thinking thinking about what I will
write...cause with inspiration from these 2 you know it must
be fabulous !

in the meantime,
this photo below shows how photography should be framed,
I know because my son told me & he's a professional commercial photographer

:)'s

Now, this kitchen I love !
Aren't those bar stools clever ?

Love the dark walls, the greenery, the books, the pottery.

Wonderful use of the runners, I think.

Sophisticated & sleek.

At this point in my life I actually think I could be so happy in spaces like this?
Could you?

my favorite kitchen of all times

My Favs from the Spring 2012 Runway

from Giles Deacon, London

from Gucci, Milan
I'm completely knocked out by these pants, especially the treatment at the ankle,
+ the t-strap shoe is lovely...

Alberta Ferretti, Milan
her take on the tribal trend

& as usual, the lovely colors.
Alberta Ferretti, herself, is a small woman, so her clothes fit small ladies very well,
even short/petite ladies.

Francesco Scoglamiglio, Milan
very art deco, very beautiful

love the hosiery & the shoe, but know the entire line needs
"real people" underpinnings.   the sheerness is beautiful, and OMG, how
difficult to sew.

trending, black & white - tribal - solid colors.
no color blocking, just lovely prints in batiks.

The Burberry large tribal handbag will be the iconic one for Spring,
mark my works.

need I say more....
reincarnation of Twiggy & the 60's

you guys already know I love Donna Karan & Diane Von Furstenberg,
I'll choose my favorites from their lines for another posting.

& still more to come of Alaska & Victoria, BC

a big thank you to all my new followers, and to my regulars
for supporting me...it does mean SO much.
