My Reader....

well, I mean my Google Reader, all the blogs I follow...
the number of unread posts continues to go up up up.

I am so struggling with this, mostly because I feel it is not polite to just leave them there unread.

do any of you feel this way?

there is always so much to do.
you see, I'm never bored. in my life I've never been bored.
I'm interested in everything, and once interested I need to ferret out more details,
all of which takes time.

but the blogs I follow are owned by people I care about very much,
so I feel obligated to read what each of you post every single time.

lindasinklings:

stone path.
via (chestchest)

and sometimes I wander around, I'm sure you do this too...
just poking in to say hello, giving a quick cursory look-see, trying to make certain I don't miss a thing.

and you know how you can mark ALL the unread posts as "read?"
I just hate this.
but when the numbers reach over 1000+ I recognize I will
never be able to see all of the content.

now with the fashion blogs that's OK,
but with blogs of a more personal nature it just freaks me out !

I have been super super busy with my website, ordering Fall/Holiday jewelry items,
new handbags, adding scarfs (the really long ones to wrap around),
& designing my own pieces, which will need to be created, then photographed,
then uploaded to the website, in time for the arrival of the Fall season.

all of this creativity is taking time away from keeping up with my blogging,
my posts are suffering, and I am missing all of your posts.
the only good news is that like this beautiful image above, we will have
beauty returning soon to Splenderosa.

you know, it's hard to create when you're interrupted.

I know each of us has this same occurrence, and I would really like your help
in telling me how you handle it.

the wise owl told me to "just go ahead, erase all the old posts, you can see them anytime
you visit that blog by going backwards."

my grandmother, the indomitable Mom-Mom, told me once:
"never hurry, you lose elegance."

maybe once again she was right.

I'll be posting,
and as soon as I can make it around the world,
I will be visiting each of you one at a time.

  1. Awwwhhhh you are such a good person. I feel also very behind in my blog visits and all I keep telling myself is that i am doing the best I can, cannot do more than that so I trying hard to take the pressure off. Plus I feel in the summer, everyone is in different directions so we all come and go....less of a "schedule" I know I have been MIA in blogland off and on, but I know its always there and I do not check any of my posts as read so they are there always for me to see when I have the luxury of a several uninterrupted hours (almost never) but I know that day will come..and when it does, it will be wonderful to get lost in all the beauty and inspiraton alive and well in blogland. Thanks for all you do and I look forward to seeing all your beautiful new baubles....now off to a tournament in the sweltering heat for the weekend!

  3. Oh Marsha! You just described perfectly my concerns about visiting and reading so many wonderful blogs! I feel terrible at the moment for not commenting such a long time.
I just like to take my time to read posts carefully and not only 'overflying' them.... But time is running through my fingers, getting interrupted every so often, working from home...., looking after the garden, Mr. B, Oskar, the holiday guests,and....and....

However, I'm really pleased that I'm not the only one....!
We may come up with a solution...
I'm sure that our readers and followers will understand. Comes winter - comes more time, hopefully!
    Meanwhile -stay cool!

  4. I feel like you've been reading my mind! These are all of the same thoughts I've been struggling with as well…it is very hard to fit it all in and feel like you are doing a good job on any one thing in particular. While I'm here in New Orleans with my daughter I've decided to quit fretting over everything else and concentrate on being with her…otherwise I will regret that I didn't when we leave and that will only add to the frustrations! Life is just too busy but it's also too precious to not take it all in! I also feel very uncreative at the moment but that too shall pass! Thank you for caring enough to tell us all how you feel! I for one have been reading your lovely posts…just don't always have the time to comment which makes me feel rude as well! Part of the time I'm just not wanting my family to hear the clicking of this keyboard for fear they will know I'm not really concentrating on them! Pitiful confession, I know! Anyway, take it easy and soon we will all be back to what we think of as "normal"! At least I sure hope we will!
Thanks again for your thoughtful comments on all of this!

  6. No worries. Always happy when you have the time to stop by, and never upset when you are too busy to do so. Life is too short
    for regrets or guilt.

  7. I think MANY of us are in the same boat. I follow so many blogs and right now am so dang busy selling this house and building a new one. Plus it's summer and we are outside (well not now when it is 100 degrees)!!! I know just how you feel but I guess we have to just do what we can do. There are only 24 hours in a day. LIFE has to come first. I can't wait to see your new goodies for Fall!!!!!!!!!!! Take care and have a great weekend, Marsha. XO, Pinky-

  8. Oh, yes, I feel exactly like you, but every time I can I stop by blogs like yours and just stay there for a moment - my little pleasures, my special moments.
    Have a nice weekend.

  10. Hello!

    Happy weekend,

I think we all feel the same way, there are so many beautiful blogs written by talented people it is incredibly hard to keep up. I am just excited to see what everyone is up too!

I think you shouldn't give it another thought, we are all excited that life is keeping you busy with your beautiful jewelry designs and your storefront, and cannot wait to see the new things on offer.

Have a great, and relaxing weekend!

    Elizabeth

  12. Do not worry. After all, we let some small details go by with our real life friends too:).

  13. I share your angst about not getting around to all my blog friends when "life" takes over and crowds out blogging time, but it makes the time I do spend reading my favorite blogs all that more special. Let's all give each other a bit of grace and find the right balance in doing so....

P.S. I always enjoy coming over your way for a visit!

  14. I feel your pain, but I finally had to come to terms with my reality this last month and I had to hit the delete button, when My emails with the blogs I love were up to over 500 I had to delete.
Sometimes life just gets in our way, but as I say on my blog, "Enjoy the Process!" that has to be a goal in each and every day whenever possible.
so when you can visit and when you can not true friends will always be understanding,
    xo Kathysue

Please know how much I value your comments. I read every single one and do hope you will take the time to leave your thoughts. I think InstaGram with the Emojis have taken a lot away from blogging, but I love IG too.
