More New....

Fall 2014
Dries Van Noten

& while I know there are not many of my readers who will embrace
this eclectic collection, the pieces above do appeal to me.
I love his mix of patterns, so much like Ungaro used to do, but in a much
more relaxed look.
he's also showing a larger silhouette, like the American designers did in NYC.
so be on the look-out for these shapes beginning in July.

& the shows in Paris continue through next Wednesday.
Chanel, Valentino & Alexander McQueen on Tuesday.

now, back to real life.

gonna do a post on what outfits the Oscar-Nominated Girls should wear.
& maybe including some of the presenters too.
this is not as easy as you might think considering their vast age differences and
countries of origin.

R U ready for the Oscars?
who do you think should win BEST ACTOR?
Leo or Matthew?

seriously, Leo should have already won, especially for his role in The Departed.

& who do you choose for BEST ACTRESS?

& BEST PICTURE?

I tried to watch Gravity, but couldn't.
I loved Captain Phillips.
have not seen 12 Years A Slave.

and, lastly,  I AM SO READY FOR SCANDAL TO RETURN !!!!

  2. You are right, Marsha. None of those outfits appeal to me at all, but I do appreciate how you might take elements from each and fashion something I could totally go for. I did see Gravity and enjoyed the thrill, but Oscar? Don't think so. Now, Captain Phillips could get my vote. Neither have I seen 12 Years a Slave and probably won't. The attire of some attendees at this event is always mind boggling, so I look forward to seeing what you come up with.

  3. Leo did a fabulous job. But I wonder if he was just being Leo? Meaning the part fits some of who he is in real life (lots of money and pretty women)

So looking forward to seeing the dresses, jewels and hairstyles this Sunday afternoon!

    1. Well, I cannot see Leo breaking out into dance in real life.
This is what I thought about Matthew's acting...he's just Matthew Mc being himself, weighing 40 lbs. less.
      We shall see.

  4. Hi Marsha,

Thanks for keeping us up to date on the fashion world. Regarding the Oscars, I loved American Hustle and Wolf of Wall Street (although it was very raunchy, it was good film-making). I LOVED Leo...and Cate Blanchett in Blue Jasmine was fantastic.

    Have a wonderful day! xoxo

    1. I agree with your Oscar picks. I love almost everything Marty Scorcese does. And, Leo.
I couldn't believe Leo was not chosen for The Departed.

  6. Like Sandy, I luffed Leo in Wolf of Wall Street…thought I wouldn't be able to keep watching it after the first 5 minutes, sure was raunchy...but it became quite mesmerising….anyway, thoroughly luffed it because it was very, very different although I could see a lot of The Great Gatsby in Leo's character….

Rather like that first outfit, or rather, elements of it…wouldn't wear it quite like that…larger silhouette, not so sure about that, but absolutely admire the colours and patterns.

Please know how much I value your comments. I read every single one and do hope you will take the time to leave your thoughts. I think InstaGram with the Emojis have taken a lot away from blogging, but I love IG too.
