A Few of My Favorite Things +

I'm a big lover of collections,
collections grouped together as a vignette,
and each one of these made me smile.

I have a large collection of shells which we used to keep in a glass etagere,
big, impressive shells.
now, they're in a box wanting a new home.

& who wouldn't love these photo groupings?

I had no intention of watching the ESPY awards last night, however, near the end of the show I changed channels and happened on the beginning of the presentation of the award
to Bruce/Caitlyn Jenner.

I was riveted to my chair.

from what one could have thought of as a major publicity stunt,
this change of lifestyle of his,
to hearing him speak (in his natural voice) was a stunning moment
for me.

his family was there sitting beside all the NFL players & other huge
sports figures, actors, Diane Sawyer, etc.
& each of them were riveted too.

an amazing journey which most of us will never understand,
but now I, for one, have huge empathy.
completely blew me away.

  1. I will never understand why anyone would think this choice of his/hers should rank above all other true acts of courage by so many, though. Another example of out-of-whack priorities in this crazy world. The third picture is my favorite. Love the composition but would like to move the coffee table a bit to the right. HA!

    1. Well, as this particular award goes to "sports" figures only, perhaps, this is why he was chosen?
Yes, too many heros & people of much courage go un-noticed. I agree.

  2. At first, I was in the it's-all-PR camp, but it's much more -- an example to who knows how many kids that you can be who you really think you are and not what the pressures of family/society say you are. Jenner may have saved many lives by making such choices so publicly.
Like you, I have a bit of trouble with the pronouns in these cases. But I guess we'll learn as it becomes more accepted in our world.
The shells around the mirror are pretty nice, too. Quite spectacular.

    1. Emm, I'm concerned that EVERYTHING WILL BE ACCEPTABLE before we know it.
Manners have already disappeared. Oh, I coiuld go on & on.....

  3. Marsha that shelled mirror is beautiful!! and what inspiration if you have the shells to do it with. It will be a unique piece. I too am a fan of photo grouping and these examples you shared are brilliant! Happy Thursday..xo Celia M. (HighHeeledLife.com)

Please know how much I value your comments. I read every single one and do hope you will take the time to leave your thoughts. I think InstaGram with the Emojis have taken a lot away from blogging, but I love IG too.
