Chantelle was fabulously happy, but worried...
as she knew the sort of productions dinner parties became
when her wonderful & extravagant grandmother was the
hostess
Chantelle thought it would be oh so fashionable to have
the party at a new restaurant which had just opened...
a hot, happening place where the younger set
wanted to see & be seen...
well, here's the pic she gave Mom-Mom of the place

The thing is, Chantelle's mother, Chelsea would do anything
to get out of going to Mom-Mom's house...they just didn't
see things eye-to-eye most of the time.
Chelsea wanted Chantelle to have a dinner which would be more
fun, at a real restaurant, where none of them would have to cook & clean.
Also, then Chelsea, THE MOTHER, would have more control
over the entire event, wouldn't she?
Nevermind.
On with the fun.
Chantelle went in search of the perfect outfit,
it could be in any shade of pink.
Chelsea would wear a beautiful fushcia.
Catherine (aka Mom-Mom) would just call Karl.
All the guys would get a pink rose bud for their lapels.
Oh, thank goodness, no pink tie theme.
Chantelle thought this would be fun to wear, of course, so did Mom-Mom.
Chelsea said NO.
So no pink wig. Sorry.
when she was modelling for Ungaro,
with the perfect pink hat for what...
not this dinner, but maybe for The Kentucky Derby
which is coming up soon.
Chelsea called Chantelle to come home early one day.
She told her she had a special gift for her.
When Chantelle arrived, she & her mother
sat down for tea...and Chelsea took out
a small velvet pouch with silk ties...inside
was this 18k gold necklace with pink
tourmaline gemstones.
She had called the girls at Splenderosa and asked them
to make something splendid but elegant for Chantelle.
Chantelle's father, of course, had to approve the price.
Perfect Perfect Perfect Necklace
for this dress which Chantelle just had to have
for the party
all inspired by these two photographs in Vogue...
I mean, pink flowers...couldn't be more perfect, could it?
Portrait of Mom-Mom's grandmother, Lady Clarissa Robinson
who also was in love with pink, as we see here.
Oh, and when Mom-Mom, Catherine, ran into Tom & Suri Cruise
at The Ivy in L.A. she asked them to come as her
guests in the pink home.
They accepted.
