return of the ...

blouse

already being seen on the European streets by
Garance Dore & The Sartorialist

the blouse, re-imagined

buttoned all the way up, refined & elegant
or ruffled & lady-like,

notice the little headband
with floppy bow

Ralph Lauren

Louisa Beccaria

love this look, covered leg, romantic

 neutrals, both beiges/tans & grays/silvers
mix them up
the old rules are out...looks younger not to match exactly

look out...longer lengths are returning...
some of us will be really happy
(those of us who have them in the back of our closets)

Christian Dior
I am looking at the jewelry here...loving the smaller elements,
but still multi-stranded...

what do you guys think?

  1. My dear fashion advisor, I love your updates on the latest and greatest fashion. I'm just fine with longer skirts. They can be so dramatic and romantic. And I LOVE soft blouses. Very feminine. Even the one with the bow. It has a much softer look than the 80's bows!
    As usual, perfect post!
xo and extra hug to you!

  6. Love mixing neutrals! Blouses are fabulous and feminine. Love the longer lengths, but I just wish those shoes from the first picture would go away!

  7. Hi Marsha, It is great to be back and visiting you here again. I have enjoyed visiting your previous posts that I have missed, not short of elegance at all. Thanks so much for your sweet comments. Have a great weekend! verbena cottage

  8. I also like the look of the blouse and more feminine clothes. Only challenge is to hold in my (God given) stomach the entire time the blouse is tucked in. Oh well! I'm up to 130 crunches every day to combat it. :)

  9. Beautiful choices -- blouses are always a favorite of mine -- In your selection the Christian Dior is my favorite and I also like the Louisa Beccaria soft , fem and glam - but sans the high collar. I have a long neck and like to show it.

    Love the music playing too.

Please know how much I value your comments. I read every single one and do hope you will take the time to leave your thoughts. I think InstaGram with the Emojis have taken a lot away from blogging, but I love IG too.
