Lace, Lace, Everywhere Lace....

"I consider lace to be one of the prettiest imitations ever made of the fantasy of nature;
lace always evokes for me those incomparable designs
which the branches and leaves of trees embroider across the sky,
and I do not think that any invention of the human spirit
could have a more graceful or precise origin."
 Coco Chanel, April 29, 1939

I'm swearing to God that I would actually wear these shoes,
& think I was cute

something for all the jeans girls who are made at me,
maybe just a little longer if you're older than 8

this must have been a wedding, but why not for everyday...just without the favors.

you know, by now, that I absolutely adore Dolce & Gabbana...
probably because they're Italians.

fashionistas gotta start young

"Let's face it, there's nothing wrong with showing a little lace.
Where's the harm?
Feminine, delicate, timeless - I'm loving the lace.
I'm loving how it reminds of when I went to Burano,
the Venetian island that specializes in lace.
I'm loving how it softens any look,
how it evokes another era.

Ah, lace.  Lace love.  Love."

  1. Lace says 'luxury' to me.
I think that Catherine Middleton did more for lace in this generation than anyone or anything else.

  22. Dear Marsha,
I LOVE lace, be it in fashion or in interiors.
I love the mixture of lace and leather and the examples that you have shown are just beautiful.
..... and Burano is wonderful, isn't it ? We loved Burano more than Murano when we were in Venice.
I've always loved that photograph of the shoes.....I have the image of the black ones saved in my pictures and the cupboard of old lace is wonderful. I also love the first image and would love a blouse like that.
A beautiful post Marsha, full of the best examples of lace ( maybe apart from the shorts !!!!) XXXX

  24. I love how timeless lace is, yet it's constantly being used to reinvent fashion as well. And it can have both an utterly feminine vibe, as well as a more darker gothic one. Adore that white gown!!

Please know how much I value your comments. I read every single one and do hope you will take the time to leave your thoughts. I think InstaGram with the Emojis have taken a lot away from blogging, but I love IG too.
