A Coffee?

This is what I'm doing on Black Friday...I have never understood the madness of going out the
day after Thanksgiving to shop.  Of course, maybe the reason is that I worked in retail ?
At Sak's 5th Avenue we didn't ever have regular customers shop over this weekend, and
we had very little traffic, so this says a lot about the desire for electronics, cookware, gear of
any kind for the outdoors, etc.  I just heard a report on TV that 1/2 of our population is out shopping.
Unbelievable.

I actually prefer ordering on line.
Do any of you?

To me there is a luxury of having merchandise arrive at your doorstep.

Now, don't get me wrong, I still love walking around in different stores, seeing what's new.
There is a little thrill in it for us girls, I think.
Seeing how the visuals are presented in the luxury stores gives one an idea of
what's happening now...how to put together apparel in ways we would never have
considered, you know?

And, then there are the shoes.
We must be there to shop for shoes.
Plus, I've never met a woman who said she had enough shoes.

The holiday season is upon us...I have already planned so many posts for this time of the year.
Please bear with me while I change the music to tunes of the season, a playlist I labored over
last year is already in place for you guys to enjoy...or hate.

I've even committed to doing a DIY cake decorating post for
Yvonne @ StoneGable.
The schedule for her 4 link parties is below.
the link to her blog is here

I'm taking one of the Labs to the vet for her 2nd laser treatment for arthritis,
I am so hoping she benefits from this as she is suffering badly.
If any of you have suggestions please send them on to me.

Big HUG !!!

  1. When you find out what to do for the labs arthritis, let me know.....maybe it would help us humans too:) I am SO with you in that you wouldn't catch me out shopping today. It IS madness. A couple nd their son stooped over at our daughters last night for dessert and were then driving an hour to some outlets to shop!!!!!!!!!!! It is carzy to me. Yvonne is my dear friend and I love her. We had a great phone conversation yesterday morning. XO, Pinky

  2. We've always had labs, and we've been married 44 years. It's so sad to watch them slow down as they age. I suppose that you've already been through remadyl? It's been a blessing for some of our dogs. Little Charlie Dickens takes it periodically now. He's 11 1/2. I've never shopped on Black Friday...who invited all those tacky people? LOL. I did order TRA2 from Totally Rad for my Adobe Photoshop online today, so I'm nicely fulfilled, thank you. :-) Hope that you had a blessed Thanksgiving surrounded by family and friends...on to Christmas. 5. Water therapy is the only thing I have heard of that really helps, Marsha. Bless her heart.
I'm with you on the shopping on Black Friday. Give me the online version any day. I took my computer to Apple at the Summit, and it was busy but not crazy. Law enforcement was directing traffic.
I am happy that you had a nice Thanksgiving and
i am looking forward to your Christmas posts, and yes, I love Yvonne too!

  8. I hope you're having a wonderful and relaxing Thanksgiving weekend Marsha. Yep I second the motion for online shoppping but mainly because I don't live in an area where there's much shopping to be done. Now if I could have coffee served to me like the image above I would probably drink to much of the stuff!

  9. Hello Marsha, good luck with your lab. No shopping either for me on Black Friday..... I did, however, shop on line for books for the granddaughters and some cosmetics as a treat for myself. Being a senior, it sure saves driving all over town.

    Regards,
    Helen

  10. Hello Marsha, I do hope the treatment works for your Lab.

No shopping for me on Black Friday - except on line!
Being a senior, on-line shopping is wonderful. I don't have to drive all over town especially in the busy pre-Christmas rush.

    Happy Thanksgiving weekend

    Regards,
    Helen

  11. The only way I would get out to shop on Black Friday is to purchase the coffee set above. Just beautiful and I am enjoying the music too! I am so excited for Christmas so now enjoy your coffee and have a great weekend.

  12. I can't imagine venturing out, especially since I'm up in the San Francisco/Bay Area visiting family. Heard it was a huge rush everywhere and zillions of cars with no where to park. What fun is that!

I do almost all my "shopping" online and have learned what sizes work in all things and when to ask and or measure. Seller's are great about answering questions - no matter how silly and they are always, always super nice! Unfortunately, that isn't always the case at brick and mortar stores. However, having said that, I love to shoe shop; meeting one of two of my BFF's and then having lunch.

Nope - never, ever enough shoes!

  13. I love to walk around the shops Marsha, but like you I love the luxury of ordering online as do my and your customers, thankfully ;-)
The first photograph of the coffee is oh, so inviting... My first dog had arthritis but he was 15, bless him...I hope the treatment works for your dog.

  14. MArsha,

I hope you had a fabulous Thanksgiving! This coffee outing looks like a wonderful way to while away a few hours with friends.

Good luck with your little pup, it is always hard when our animals suffer.

    Have a great day, Elizabeth

  15. I've never shopped on the Friday after Thanksgiving because I keep craziness to a minimum in my life. Marsha, I make a lot of my gifts, order some things and make charitable donations for other folks. It works for me.

    1. This is the most wonderful gift of all, a gift made with loving and caring hands.
      Thank you for this, Sandra.

  16. I didn't shop on Friday...I would rather not fight the crowds... I stayed home and painted my dinning room.

Please know how much I value your comments. I read every single one and do hope you will take the time to leave your thoughts. I think InstaGram with the Emojis have taken a lot away from blogging, but I love IG too.
