Love this kitchen too....and I agree about the gingham, it works but its a little more country than what I would use...I would probably use a gorgeous blue and white chinoiserie fabric.....stunning though!
I think the gingham is nice and helps to tone down the opulence which can sometimes make people afraid to even pull out that chair and sit on it. I want people to feel relaxed in my home and not as if they cannot touch or use the furniture.
I agree Marsha, Such opulence deserves a little more than gingham...a bit too homey for this kitchen....I am currently in the bar stool angst situation...what fabric to choose...this makes me feel a little better about my indecision...not simple! N.xo
Hello Marsha, sorry to be absent for so long, and thanks for your lovely comment last week. This is such a lovely kitchen, how wonderful to be able to have a fire there! Being an avant-garde person I'd cover those cushions in a fabulous fabric from The Designers Guild by Trisha Guild. Punchy and vibrant!
The gingham doesn't bother me, its the bows that are over done. Gingham is a big staple in provincial France and so for me it works. Would love a fireplace in my kitchen!
Please know how much I value your comments. I read every single one and do hope you will take the time to leave your thoughts. I think InstaGram with the Emojis have taken a lot away from blogging, but I love IG too.
Very elegant kitchen, I think I would have loved simple flax linen cushions.. But the over all kitchen is lovely!

ReplyDeleteMarsha, I agree, the gingham doesn't work so well for that room.
ReplyDeleteI agree about the cushions...can't handle anything that resembles a bow!!
