with temps reaching 100f today here in Houston it doesn't seem appropriate to be talking about

does it?

however, it will arrive just like it always does,
and we already have many pre-fall outfits in the shop,
which I will get to in a later post.

for those of us who cannot or do not want to purchase 20 new
Fall outfits there is one winning palette which never fails:

from Chanel's Fall Ready-to-Wear Collection
Black & White Dress $6850.00 @ Chanel only
as shown in August Harper'sBazaar editorial

or this

Cynthia Steffe
 S M L

which proves once again that
is always right.

or this
Alice & Olivia
dark navy "Winnifred" turtleneck maxi dress
with the ruched sleeve treatment

an amazing dress which can be worn every single day throughout the season,
dressed to work, to go out, wear with boots, flats, tall high heels, fab jewelry,
giant handbag or a small top handle one.
ohhhh, let me count the ways this could be worn.

goodness, just imagine how many places you could wear this little number,
ethically harvested (shearing) lamb-wool, not skin

the thing is...IF we don't get them now they won't be available when we need/want them.
seriously, guys, the manufacturers are only cutting a few extras over the number of units ordered during market week.
it's not at all like it used to be before 2008.
so, usually there are no re-orders, no special orders for our clients.
sad, but true.  the rag trade has changed drastically, now it's all about the bottom line,
that's it & that's all.

OK love it all but that vest...is super fabulous and look #1 is such a classic, will stand the test of time. And boy has the entire apparel industry changed in a huge way (not a good way thanks to outsourcing in China) have a few good friends in this business who have kept us up to speed with whats happening and its sad! Stay cool, Marsha fall will be here before you know it!

Love your picks Marsha especially that stunning Alice and Olivia dress.

That long dress is marvelous, and black-and-white always seems crisp and refreshing. But whatever were they thinking at Chanel to send a model out with a hairdo that looks like a '20s mobster.

ALL the models looked this way for the show. I think it's hideous too. However, it does make one look at the apparel, doesn't it? xx's

I like the long dress, but not the ankle length. Marsha, I have deleted my 4th July post and can't get the new post up
on Marie Antoinette. Got any answers. The Designer who took over Chanel must hate women. Awful to make her up like that.

Guess what…I'm having to think of outfits for Houston starting this Friday through next Wednesday! Not sure I can wear any of these just yet but wish I could! Trying to think….shorts, sleeveless, cool, comfortable, etc…and yet we will be photographed! Oh my! Can't believe their grand opening is next week! It's been a very long time coming! Can't believe it's in your home town! Wish we had met in person a long time ago! I could use your help right about now!
