The Night Fantastic.....

this post began when I assisted a beautiful young women who had come home to Houston to attend a black-tie wedding.
because she looked fabulous in EVERYTHING, the choices were amazing.
however, the appropriate choice was a bit trickier.
wearing a super-sexy dress was taboo, so was
wearing a mini skirted outfit, or pants.
the wedding was in a church with a reception following in another venue.
we found something for her, thankfully.
you see, she arrived at the shop around 3pm on Saturday and the wedding was
THAT NIGHT !

here are some outfits I think fit the bill perfectly,
and will work for almost everyone.

Tadashi Shoji Sleeveless Lace Embellished Cocktail Dress

below, a new designer "Self Portrait" brings this lovely
guipure lace dress to us, click on this site to see the detail in the
very excellently priced outfit.

guipure lace is a technique similar to reimbroidered lace,
the main design is held together with thicker threads rather than netting
or silk chiffon.  loving the construction of this dress, with the band across the chest.
those shoes, however, have gotta go.
I think they are too heavy for the delicate fabric construction & would much prefer to see
a slender pump which brings NO attention to the foot.

below, on sale here
obviously, I love this shoe even if it doesn't go with anything here
NMF16_X2KUR

the Alexis Lace Open-Back Gown is drop-dead gorgeous,
but definitely not for a full-busted lady.
beautiful scalloped hemline,
frayed edges around top & back

  1. Marsha, a nice collection of dresses for after five. I think that Self Portrait dress is quite interesting. I can visualise a young Audrey Hepburn wearing this style. She wore that buttoned up collar style well. I agree with you that the shoes are wrong with it. Too busy! I think that black lace off-the-shoulder number would look lovely on.
You didn't tell us what your customer ended up purchasing! Long/short, black/ colourful? When you have a customer who is equally stunning in everything, it's almost more difficult, because you still have to have the final choice being right for the occasion.
    Cheers,

    Gros bisous ♡

  4. I'm not keen on the high-low hemlines, especially on short dresses. I believe even the beautiful black one, the first, pic, would be much more attractive either short or long - not half and half. I love the tea length black lace by Monique LH and would wear with the Kate Spade shoes, not an ankle strap. Of course I wouldn't be able to walk in any of those heels anyway, haha!
I bet your client looked gorgeous no matter which outfit she chose!

Please know how much I value your comments. I read every single one and do hope you will take the time to leave your thoughts. I think InstaGram with the Emojis have taken a lot away from blogging, but I love IG too.
