Glamourous 60's

we have recently seen a return of so many of the lovely things
about the 60's especially in fashion...I don't think Mad Men
had this huge impact across international runways...
maybe, it was just time in the natural cycle...

& these two
Inaugural Gown & Cape
designed by Mrs. Kennedy & made by Bergdorf-Goodman

street style in the 60's
the way we were....

in those days I believe there were rules of decorum, dress
& manners, etiquette & appropriateness...
do you think we could, perhaps, be returning to
this too ?

  1. how nice that would be! I remember my beautiful Mother, always dressed to the nines, hair done once a week, clothes delivered by taxi from the best stores, her hats and gloves. That is what I would like to go back to, my friends always tell me that I am "so put together". Maybe that is what they mean. Thanks for the wonderful memories. :)

  2. Hi - I adore this, I have a real thing for the 60's style. Love the Kennedy images and those vintage covers. Feel like I missed out being born long after that decade. Nice to see it all here in a post...Lou x

  5. That Jean Shrimpton was my favorite model.
Oh! don't forget Suzi Parker. Goldie Hawn
and the Go-go boots. Renee at the age of nine had a pair of red Paten leather Go-go boots.
Is that Nancy Sinatra singing "these boots"?

  7. Oh that third photo is almost timeless. Twiggy and Goldie don't do much for me but there are aspects of the style of the 60's that are so elegant to me. The line of the long dresses, the swoop of the eyeliner.
    Great post.

  8. Wow what a lovely collection of the classiest outfits and the most beautiful hair and make up of all times! The 60s and 70s are my TOP favorites eras - but I do agree with you... the fashion may come back in style but what about the good manners, guys opening the doors for the ladies, little use of bad words... and ladies that behave like ladies! Wouldn't that be wonderful?

ps: Congratulations on the baby girl, what a blessing! Wish you and your family much happiness!

  10. You had me at 60's + glamor. Wouldn't it be nice if everything that goes around, comes around again; which would include manners, etiquette and all that is related? No more Jersey Shore types..ha! Marsha hoping your new granddaughter is doing very..very well?!!

    xoxo deb

Please know how much I value your comments. I read every single one and do hope you will take the time to leave your thoughts. I think InstaGram with the Emojis have taken a lot away from blogging, but I love IG too.
