Pink Saturday 11.6.2010

Dominican Republic, La Romana

 Manolo Blahnik's

 Precious Pink Sapphires

St. Augustine, Florida
storm
The move is now complete, except the unpacking, furniture
arranging, finding out that almost nothing you already own works in
your new home, Good Willing ALL colored towels, wondering how on
earth you will ever find window coverings for all those mini-blinded
windows, chasing runaway dogs, doing laundry, and on Monday
starting a new job at 7AM for a hard-hat meeting
(my daughter, not me).

My blogging will be sporadic with holidays, jewelry work in progress,
and  related occurences, plus catching up with my friends &
finding time for myself, which is vital.

One thing I know. I simply cannot exist without my nails & toes
being perfect, and my hair color being right (damn damn damn
this gray coming in!).  All of this is impossible for me to do myself so
the appropriate amount of time is necessary to set aside for ME.

We all need time just for ourselves. It's not selfish. It's vital for
our well-being and, therefore, for the people in our families'
well-being.  I used to think I could be the pitcher & the catcher,
but I can't.  And, it's OK.

This will probably be my last Pink Saturday post,
but I do hope you visit all the other ladies...see the icon at very
bottom of my post to click over to the others.
Or, go here

I'm still in Austin, the Texas weather is beautiful, crisp &
clear blue skies.  So nice

  5. Oh I loved this post Marsha, I totally agree with you when you say 'We all need time just for ourselves.' Its just so important tho' we don't always feel worthy enough and we're often so busy looking after other's needs and neglecting our own until, sometimes illness comes along and forces us to take a back seat, as happened to me. Every time I visit your blog I'm cheered by your wonderful music and gorgeous photographs. I especially loved the pink sapphires today, I think they are soo gorgeous! My best friend has the most lovely pink sapphire ring that I always beg her to wear whenever we meet just so's I can gaze at it's beauty longingly.
So glad for you that your daughter is all moved in and new job started successfully.

Thank you once more for posting the pink sapphires and my all-time favourite pinky-mauve roses side by side today. Enjoy your 'Me' time, and take care.
I shall leave your music playing in the background as I work today!

  7. I am a follower, so I will still be able to keep up when you once again have time to post. Do what you need to do, we all need me time and there's nothing wrong in taking care of yourself both on the outside as well as on the inside.
With all the moves we have done all over the world in 30 years, I found it was just better for me to take my time and enjoy the packing as well as the excitement of unpacking and setting up a new beginning. Happy Pink Saturday and thank you for the gorgeous Florida sky, it's perfectly beautiful, Char

  9. What beautiful photos. Congrats to your daughter on her new job, take all the time you need, and it's a pleasure knowing you online.

Which has just made me want to ask a favor. I read your blog in Google Reader, as a subscriber. That blue font is very tough on old eyes...Any chance you could implement a font that read black in the RSS feed? Thanks for thinking about us old folk:).

Please know how much I value your comments. I read every single one and do hope you will take the time to leave your thoughts. I think InstaGram with the Emojis have taken a lot away from blogging, but I love IG too.
