I thought it would be fun to dress each actress who
has been nominated, taking into consideration their ages,
their style & their size...
so here are my choices for each of the 10 ladies...
Best Supporting Actress
Helena Bonham Carter
Amy Adams
Moschino
Melissa Leo
Alberta Ferretti
Hailee Steinfeld
Oscar de la Renta
Jacki Weaver
only Armani, only tailored
for her age & size there was no other choice,
she would look so regal dressed in this
perfect evening suit...
Best Actress
for
Nicole Kidman,
who never wears frilly,
has been nominated, taking into consideration their ages,
their style & their size...
so here are my choices for each of the 10 ladies...
Best Supporting Actress
Helena Bonham Carter
with fabulous shoes, jewelry, &
knowing her, yards & yards of tuille wrapping
& trailing
Moschino
Melissa Leo
Alberta Ferretti
I think this is totally cool for Melissa's "about 50" age...
Hailee Steinfeld
Oscar de la Renta
she's so young I hope she doesn't make a
mistake & wear too old...
Jacki Weaver
only Armani, only tailored
for her age & size there was no other choice,
she would look so regal dressed in this
perfect evening suit...
Best Actress
for
Nicole Kidman,
who never wears frilly,
I thought pale & fluffy for her long tall figure
& light skin
Marchesa
Michelle Williams
Monique Lulliere
red on blondes is a show-stopper look
Annette Bening
she would only need to add killer shoes
& fabulous over-the-top fine jewelry
Jennifer Lawrence
Oscar de la Renta
perfect confection for a 20-year old...
Natalie Portman
Theyskens for Theory
-
now, we'll wait & see what they actually wear...and
who knows, maybe Anne Hathaway, styled by Rachel Zoe,
will be the scene stealer of the evening...
my opinions on the films:
Colin Firth should have won last year for A Single Man,
one of the best films ever made. So, here's hoping he is
a shoo-in on Sunday.
The Social Network is also one of the best films,
in my opinion. Maybe The King's Speech will win,
but if The Social Network wins Best Picture I
won't be unhappy.
Anything Mark Walberg does is excellent.
Inception was so confusing to me I had to leave it
after only 30 minutes.
Natalie Portman for Best Actress
because she was...
Natalie Portman for Best Actress
because she was...
& if I were going to be on the red carpet this is what I
would wear...
Happy Pink Saturday!
ReplyDeleteI really love the very first black dress with pants.
It's Indian style.

ReplyDeleteI love your picks. They suit these actresses very well.
ReplyDeleteSuch a creative Pink Sat. Post. I think your right on with your picks. I especially like what you picked for Natalie Portman and Nicole Kidman. And well your little black dress is a knock out. I'll probably just wear a little something in my closet. HA HA.
ReplyDeleteHappy Pink Sat.
I could see each of the actresses in my mind with their dresses on. That was fun!
ReplyDeleteYou're good! You can tell you l-u-v it.
(That must have taken a lot of time!)
I'll be thinking of you as I settle in for the red carpet.

I can already envision the tablescape that I would design for these dresses to be seated for dinner. It would be an amazing event. Thank you for sharing. Cherry Kay
ReplyDeleteI always love your choices. They cannot be beat! Have a great weekend and enjoy the Oscars. I think I'll have to plan a very special Sunday Supper, don't you think?

Beautiful gowns...all of them...now if only Helena Bonham Carter would wear something that subdued!
ReplyDeleteDear Marsha, great choices. The red is the stand out one for me. I'll stay up and watch the Oscars on Sunday.
ReplyDeleteI didn't understand Inception either. In the end there were so many things blowing up and so many special effects it just got on my nerves.
Have a lovely weekend xx
Looks like you hit the nail on the head with a lot of these! Maryanne ;)
ReplyDeleteGreat choices. You have an eye for fashion. I can't help myself to see who wore what, but it is usually the nest day. Have a great time tonight. Love, Heidi

ReplyDeleteHappy Pink Saturday Marsha Sweetie...
ReplyDeleteA beautiful share today and yes I think we are all excited about the Oscars. I can't wait.
Love Natalie Portmans' choice that you made. So elegant and perfect. But I have to tell you Marsha sweetie, yours was the best. I can see you now. A beautiful selection.
I am so thrilled to hear that your jewelry has taken off, but I am tickled pink that you have came up for air. I have missed you.
I love your Faceted Black Onyx & Smokey Quartz Nuggets bracelet. It is exquisite. You have designed well sweet friend.
Many hugs and much love to you, Sherry
Oh that red! Not bad for brunettes, either. Quite the shoulder pads on that little number you'd be wearing. Very "no more wire hangers"-ish! Think you should go with the red instead! XO Trish
ReplyDeleteThere's lotsa pretty going on in here!!
ReplyDeleteHappy Pink Saturday, Char
Beatiful blog....beautiful music....thx Marsha for leaving a footprint in my photoblog.
ReplyDeleteI´m sure that we will see more of eachother ;-)

Great picks!! I think my favorites were the Monique Lulliere for Michelle Williams and the blue dress for Annette Bening. And you, my dear, would I'm sure look STUNNING in your "little black dress"!!
ReplyDeleteYou have some wonderful gowns but the black Alberta Ferreti is my favorite! Have fun watching the Oscars and have a wonderful pink week!!
ReplyDeleteI think I would choose the red gown. How could I resist the temptation to be a "show stopper"? lol
ReplyDeleteWow! How lovely aint these gowns, and you really found dresses that would be great on those actresses. I really can see them in them. Have a nic sunday,XO Katta
ReplyDeleteDear Marsha,
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful post and what brilliant choices....it should be you who is dressing the stars tonight.
Not many people like the dresses that Helena Bonham Carter chooses but, I LOVE her. She is quirky and always stays true to herself and I think that she would love the outfit that you have chosen for her.
.....and, I am so with you on the film Inception. My husband and I saw it and didn't understand half of it !!!!
I shall be staying up all night tonight for the Oscars as I always do. XXXX
I adore that red dress .. its stunning xx
ReplyDeleteThese are all glamorous! I'm loving the gorgeous pink gown. Enjoy the fabulous week, Kellie xx
ReplyDeleteHi Marsha,
ReplyDeleteI think the first black dress with the sexy {bloomers} is my favorite. Not the proper word I'm sure but it's the first thing that popped in my mind. :-)
