I hadn't remembered that Ralph Lauren designed the costumes for
The Great Gatsby
in 1974,
until I saw this collection, which plainly states his love affair with
the era once again.
He's not designing the costumes this time around,
and I think the production has made a tragic mistake...just saying.
the luxe fabrics in this collection, like silk satin, panne velvet, floral printed silk chiffons,
marabou feathers, + opulent details like feather earrings dangling,
long long thin roping necklaces
+ beautiful lace-wrapped heads, flapper-like caps
...in other words, all of it.
Marc Jacobs disappointed
So did Chado Ralph Rucci
Donna Karan shone brightly,
as did The Row
& Oscar

ReplyDeleteI love Ralph Lauren, I have never ever seen a bad collection. I beleive that he designs for all, real women. And I think many of his lines are accessable to all, maybe not the crock handbag for $12,000 but many others.
