one of the fantasy dreams I had since I was 18 was to go to the
Cipriani Hotel
in
Venice
I think I read about the people who frequented this legendary place,
and just knew I wanted to go.
my husband was always late.
he said he was born late and had been trying to catch up ever since :)'s
lunch for him was on Mexican time,
like 2 in the afternoon.
so, here I am, poolside after the late lunch.
1 person sitting by the pool...it was nap time at the Cipriani you see.
you see, we had to take the Cipriani motor launch from St. Mark's Square
out to the island where the hotel is located.
once at the hotel dock you are in another world.
really.
a world of the famous Cipriani.
do I look overdressed for a poolside lunch?
just, fyi, I wasn't...this place requires a certain dress for admission.
& a personal note for you...
I had hair extensions at this time and I wore knotted scarves around my head because my own
hair is silky fine and the humidity of Venice and the lagoon destroyed it...
the extensions remained perfectly curled though.
& those scarves were a major fashion statement weren't they?
I roamed the streets of Venice, with husband, and found beautiful things
for our home and for my closet + Murano glass beads by the pound.
the Italian in me loved every single minute, but especially this one.
those days are gone now, but not my memories.
& a little word to you guys:
travel travel travel
save your pennies, don't buy a new outfit.
travel
The Cipriani is wonderful. So much history. We spent a few days of our honeymoon there. Wonderful memories.
