A New Book Written by a Lovely Woman

hello everyone,

I've been away for awhile & have just returned in time to tell you about
someone you probably already know,
she's a member of
"By Invitation Only"
our international blogging group;

she & her mother have the most beautiful blog called
Design Chic

it's Kristi Woodson Harvey
& she's just launched her 1st book called

"Dear Carolina"

1

when Kristy asked me to review her book, of course, I said YES & was delighted
to receive a "proof" copy.

well, ladies, let me tell you something.

this is one of the most loving, sensitive, caring books I've read in a long time,
and has "just plain common sense" which we all sorely need.

A moving debut novel about two mothers—one biological and one adoptive—from a compelling new voice in Southern women’s fiction.
One baby girl.
Two strong Southern women.
And the most difficult decision they’ll ever make.
Frances “Khaki” Mason has it all: a thriving interior design career, a loving husband and son, homes in North Carolina and Manhattan—everything except the second child she has always wanted. Jodi, her husband’s nineteen-year-old cousin, is fresh out of rehab, pregnant, and alone. Although the two women couldn’t seem more different, they forge a lifelong connection as Khaki reaches out to Jodi, encouraging her to have her baby. But as Jodi struggles to be the mother she knows her daughter deserves, she will ask Khaki the ultimate favor…
Written to baby Carolina, by both her birth mother and her adoptive one, this is a story that proves that life circumstances shape us but don’t define us—and that families aren’t born, they’re made…

a review
"Dear Carolina is Southern fiction at its best. Lovely and lyrical, with the strong voices of the two female narrators taking us deep into the heart of what being a mother is about. It shows us that love is not without sacrifice, and there’s little in life that doesn’t go down easier with a spoonful of jam. Beautifully written."—New York Times bestselling author Eileen Goudge

I truly believe you will love this 1st novel,
which sounds so much like real life when people act like they should.

I'm delighted to be a part of Kristy's review group,
I loved it & I'm sure you will too.

  3. Re Kim, Jennifer and Beyonce -- I cannot imagine what they are thinking. Or not thinking, perhaps that's the problem. No class. No style. No nothing. I wish they'd go away.

Please know how much I value your comments. I read every single one and do hope you will take the time to leave your thoughts. I think InstaGram with the Emojis have taken a lot away from blogging, but I love IG too.
