Halftime Shows at the SUPER BOWL
the only SuperBowl I've ever attended was in 1993 at the Rose Bowl in Los Angeles (Pasadena)
& I wanted to go for ONE reason only.
MICHAEL JACKSON WAS PERFORMING at halftime.
I really don't even know which teams were playing.
I've been seriously thinking about the halftime shows taking place since then, and the one on this Sunday with Lady Gaga, I think Katy Perry put on quite a show a couple of years ago, & I don't think she offended anyone. I'm not even going to go into the "show" of Beyonce's or the "appearance" of Beyonce last year, and actually have NO IDEA WHY THE NFL APPROVED of what she did.
anyway.
I'm not the only one to think
MICHAEL JACKSON'S LUMINOUS PERFORMANCE IN 1993
was the BEST EVER, and his performance is the one which ushered in the spectacular shows we're seeing today.
in 2013 USA TODAY dissected MJ's performance, which you can see right here
saying
IT WILL NEVER GET BETTER THAN MICHAEL JACKSON'S SUPERBOWL PERFORMANCE
for those of you who would love seeing the entire MJ performance I've got it
right here
please believe me, there HAS NEVER been anything like it at the game.
I loved Michael, his soft little child-like personality, I never believed for one
minute he molested children...he was a child himself, a victim of a ferocious father
who never allow any of his children to have normal lives. Notice that every one of
the Jackson's speak in the same child-like voice, like they were afraid to speak up!
Michael had a joy about him, an innocent joy,
& he had a talent for music & dance which we may never see again.
it doesn't matter what you think, he was an amazing performer, so take a few
to watch.
& here I am, right here in Houston where I live, where I was born,
& I'm NOT GOING TO THE SUPER BOWL
not going !!
THIS TIME I WANT TO GO TO SEE TOM BRADY & THE NEW ENGLAND PATRIOTS
not Lady Gaga
& just so you know I'm betting on The Pats + 20 points !!!
I'll have my Tom Brady Prayer Candle lit
& the New England Patriot metal beer bucket
in front of me at the Houston Country Club where we're watching.
I've discovered that ONLY billionnaires can afford the tickets,
only sponsors, team owners, player families & the media
& some Houston Texan season=ticket holders who were offered tickets early on,
will be there with the billionnaires.
Houston has rolled out a HUGE RED CARPET for this event.
the city is shining brightly,
a huge, modern, sleek international city which, to me, is still HOME
💓
& OMG, this is SO my kind of outfit !!!
I'm serious!
I'm in love with this look. However, I would wear a different shoe.

Oh, what an entertainer MJ was Marsha ..... we went to see him years ago at Wembley. It must have been spectacular when he was at the Superbowl... what a memory. Enjoy this years ... even though you won't be there you will still have fun. XXXX
ReplyDeleteI LOVE concerts of all kinds. And, I've been to plenty, but I agree HE IS THE BEST, simply the best. The thoughtful productions of his shows always made me shiver. There were subtle messages in them all, and sometimes not so subtle. IT would have been amazing if he had made it to the O2 for his planned shows. I saw the film of his rehearsals, we all sat in the theater and cried.
DeleteGo, go Patriots. why should be surprised that the NFL does what they do after all they dont condemn the players not respecting the flag etc... but drugs are OK?

I think we need a new commissioner at the NFL. His authoritz is too broad and not specific. And, yeah, Colin K's not standing for the National Anthem? If I was the team owner I would have walked on the field and said "YOU'RE FIRED."
DeleteHello my dear Marsha
ReplyDeleteWow it must be so exciting for you in Houston, I have been thinking about you so much. They showed the New England Patriots embarking from their plane on our news, I hope they win for you. I am going to watch the link to MJ's superbowl performance, he is one of my most favourite artists and I miss him all the time.
He was and still is, a gift to the world.
I am truly blessed that like you, I saw him at his absolute best. It was at Wembley Stadium in London I think 1989 or 90, and unbelievable. I tried to go to the O2 also.
Enjoy the weekend with all your lovely friends darling
much love, Sally xx
Can you imagine this, I stayed up half the nig
