Danny Collins - Al Pacino

Al Pacino stars in the title role in “Danny Collins.”

I just LOVED this little film!
there is no one who could have made a bigger mess of himself than Pacino playing
concerts to his aging fans, dressed like he's always dressed as a rock star,
and still make you love him.

At his birthday party he is given a letter written to him

which has only recently been discovered, from John Lennon,
this never-before seen letter
lights a fire under the aging pop star (Al Pacino)
who's grown weary of life on the road.

Inspired by the decades-old missive,
Danny Collins decamps to the Hilton in Woodcliff Lake, New Jersey,
where he sparks with the hotel's manager (Annette Bening)
while on a mission to reconnect with his son (Bobby Cannavale), whom he's never met,  and daughter-in-law (Jennifer Garner).
And, a grand-daughter who is a sky-rocket in her own right.

The actors are a cinematic dream team,

with Pacino and Bening, in particular,
crafting something lovely and true out of this redemption saga.
And just when you think you know what's coming next,
writer/director Dan Fogelman springs a few bittersweet surprises.

It's certainly worth a couple of hours of your time

and you'll laugh out loud at the situations.

Please know how much I value your comments. I read every single one and do hope you will take the time to leave your thoughts. I think InstaGram with the Emojis have taken a lot away from blogging, but I love IG too.
