the 1st image shows "Gemologist" leading, I think there is no other choice for me,
I'm betting on "Gemologist."
I thought it would be fun to have everyone put in a vote for the outfit they like best,
as THE OUTFIT
to wear
to the Derby next Saturday.
a dress is the only appropriate thing to wear,
no pants. and after shopping literally all day long last week these are the final 5.
I love all of these and it wouldn't matter to me which one is chosen as they each have
a bit of uniqueness.
left to right
Givenchy, Valentino, Vivienne Westwood, Roksinda Ilincic, Warehouse
now this is the fun part...
once you guys choose the dress
I will accessorize it from the hat to the shoes,
& do a post showing every detail.
one of my most-read posts ever was called
Mom-Mom Rocks the Kentucky Derby
come play with me, choose THE dress
if anyone needs a simply divine hat please go see my friend, Jill Henning,
who is a master, her website is HERE
please see previous post for all the other comments on this issue

The butterflies have it! To me, it just seems perfect for this fluttery year where everything is up in the air!

They're all gorgeous --- but I do love the Westwood.
ReplyDeleteIt just looks like a Derby dress to me.
It has to be the Givenchy dress, Marsha...stunning!

Well,
ReplyDeleteI love the Derby and I have to say it's hands down the Givenchy. It just STRUCK me. I love a sheath (would you call that a sheath?) Anyways, I love the idea of bare arms and a hat on Derby day. It's so feminine and so chic - not as frilly as the others. Bold. Dang, I don't know - I just love it!
Can't WAIT to see what hats you will select!
Oh, and thanks for your hilarious comment. So true.
Love,
Angela

While I am absolutely in love with the Givenchy, I think a Derby dress must have a puffy skirt, and it must be colorful, so I choose the Vivienne Westwood! Linda
ReplyDeleteVivienne Westwood!
ReplyDeleteI love both the Givenchy and the Vivienne Westwood for the Derby, both are gorgeous! It would be so hard to decide..
ReplyDeleteVivienne Westwood. So flirty and feminine!
ReplyDeleteVivienne Westwood. So flirty and feminine!
ReplyDeleteI love all of the dresses, but I am in love with the Vivienne Westwood! It is fabulous and just my style.
ReplyDeleteI am sure that all of the dresses are going to be great.
I loved the feature on the Enchanted Home of your online store all of the jewlery is beautiful. I am sure it will be a great success.
Thank you for coming over on Sunday to add your birthday wishes for Anita and Di, they are very special ladies and I am sure your sentiments were greatly appreciated.

ReplyDeleteVivienne Westwood has my vote...Tre Chic! I thought more than the dress it was the hat? Can't wait to see! Members of my family are over the top traditional attendants of the Derby. *Sigh*... so fun! Have a mint julep for me!
ReplyDeleteMarsha, thank you for your visit today....I have been reading your blog for several years and loved your post, Mom Mom goes to the Derby, it was very entertaining! My choice would be Warehouse, I love the sheath style, and the butterflies are fun! I can't wait to see how perfectly you will accessorize it....My oldest son, introduced me to thoroughbred racing several years ago and now I am smitten. I have attended several Breeder's Cup, and we visit Saratoga every summer, but never the Derby.....perhaps next year. The best part about it all, is the magnificent horses, don't you agree ? N.xo
ReplyDeleteGivenchy column, under a beautiful draped, 'Derby' hat! I can see you now...
